Assignment
Crush waste quartz glass into a fraction of 0 – 12 mm to enable its further use in the production of refractory materials.
Process and Outcome
We were able to prepare the test samples very quickly, and the customer’s formulation of the appropriate production recipe also proceeded quickly and smoothly.
The issue was that the producer of quartz shards declared them as waste, ending up in a landfill. Therefore, it was necessary to find a way to turn this waste into a secondary raw material in compliance with legislation.
In partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, we have developed a solution that aligns with current legislation while delivering benefits to both waste producer and our client. For waste producer, this means improved ESG reporting performance. For our client, it offers a chance to reduce reliance on imported scarce raw material. Transforming waste into a valuable secondary resource not only supports sustainable practices but also has a positive environmental impact.
